President Donald Trump announced that the US Navy has fired upon and captured an Iranian vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated the action was taken in response to what he called Iran’s “Total Violation of our Ceasefire Agreement” after Iranian forces allegedly fired bullets in the waterway. He warned that if Iran does not return to negotiations, the US would “knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran,” adding “NO MORE MR. NICE GUY!”
The incident marks a sharp escalation just days before the two-week ceasefire was set to expire, further heightening tensions in one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints.
