Polkadot (DOT) bridge on Ethereum – Hyperbridge – has been exploited. A hacker minted 1 billion fake bridged DOT tokens (valued at over $1.1 billion) in a single transaction, but was only able to cash out approximately $237,000 due to extremely thin liquidity.
The attacker swapped the minted tokens on decentralized exchanges and walked away with 108.2 ETH (~$237K). On-chain data shows the exploit transaction occurred just 48 minutes ago (as of April 14). Polkadot and Hyperbridge teams have confirmed the incident and are investigating.

This is yet another reminder of bridge security risks in cross-chain DeFi. Even though the total minted amount was huge, low liquidity on the bridged DOT pool limited the actual damage.
Lesson for ONFA community: Never underestimate bridge exploits. Always verify bridge contracts, use official bridges, and monitor on-chain activity closely before bridging large amounts. #DYOR and stay safe!
